Circuits

MMcC is working on electricity.  Today she was to make a lemon battery.  JV can wire pretty much any circuit and does in his little electric spot upstairs.  I thought it would be an easy lesson to work out.  Not so much.  No matter how much JV and MMcC worked they could not get the lemon to make a tiny LED turn on.  Sigh.

I gave MMcC an old “tester” that was my dad’s.  We spent time discussing outlets and how an outlet works.  I sent her scurrying around the house with the crazy testing contraption to see if all the outlets she could find would turn on the lightbulb.  She made several discoveries in the process.

We also discussed how two wires make both sockets work at once.  She asked several good questions and looked pleased with what she had learned.
