Our radishes are sprouting. We will try to see how acidic their root hairs are in the morning.

Are you interested in the acidity levels for nutritional reasons? Or simply out of curiosity?
We are working through a series of Botany lessons developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. These lessons begin with the Greek ideas of the four elements and follows the plant as it interacts with various elements. We begin with looking at the nutrition of the plant (potassium, magnesium, etc) and continue with the idea of Nitrogen fixation and are now looking at how root hairs absorb the items it needs. The root hairs excrete an acid to aid in this process. Anyway. That is what we are doing.
Ah, I see! That sounds awesome. I am going to follow to see how it goes!
