This week we decided to spend a bit more time on earthquakes. The earthquake studying had been so very theory based that it had been divorced from the realities of the world. So, this week we decided to look at the reat Charleston Earthquake of 1886. We divided up the work among the lower and upper elementary students. LR took the life in Charleston prior to the earthquake. JV and BR undertook Earthquake safe structures. DW took on liquefaction. AR and BR turned their attention to what happened after the quake.
We presented our findings to each other on Friday morning.
