Heads swivel, shoulders shrug, and bodies give wide berth to the alien pre-teens entering the domains of post-teens. The boys are oblivious to the quizzical looks and slight annoyance displayed by the students moving through the physics department.
We were on our way up to the biology department. As we had been baffled by the classification of algae and unsure of the identification of micro-algae, we thought to look up help at the College of Charleston. As it turns out, Dr. Wiseman was in the secretary’s office and invited us to visit him at 1:00 that afternoon. WOW!
Dr. Wiseman, who is our new favorite professor, had laid out a spread of images and samples of algae. He was witty and responsive to the boys’ questions. After spending an hour with us, he took us to the College’s salt water tank. Josiah took lots of pictures.
